Think Big Clubs - Teen Mentoring

A Good Idea

Description

The Think Big Club enlists high school students to work as mentors (or "Bigs") for elementary school students (or "Littles"). Meeting at Extended Day school locations, such as the Boys and Girls Club, the Bigs help their Littles with homework, activities, or projects in a supervised setting. Matches usually last one full school year and have a big impact on both the high school and elementary student. The high school Bigs must be at least 15 years old and have transportation.

Goal / Mission

The goal of the program is to match high school students to elementary school students in a mentoring relationship.

Results / Accomplishments

In general, the Teen Mentoring program has been a positive experience for both the teen mentors and the younger mentees.
