This promising practice describes the local implementation of Project SUCCESS by Clay Behavioral Health Center, Inc. in Middleburg, Florida. Project SUCCESS (Schools Using Coordinated Community Efforts to Strengthen Students) is an evidence-based, school-based intervention focused on preventing and reducing substance abuse among high-risk middle-school and high-school aged youth.

This implementation of the program is being deployed in the secondary schools in Clay County, Florida. Student Assistance Program (SAP) counselors are administering the program to students identified through various referral sources. Students participate in individual and group counseling, and receive a prevention education series to help prevent and reduce future substance abuse.

Goal / Mission

The goal of Project SUCCESS is to prevent and reduce substance abuse in high-risk middle-school and high-school aged adolescents.

Results / Accomplishments

The program is currently being offered in the Clay County secondary schools.
