Child Safety Awareness Program

A Good Idea

Description

The goal of the Child Safety Awareness Program is to provide children with information and skills to help them deal with dangerous and abusive situations. The age appropriate and culturally diverse curriculum is delivered through a series of four, 30 minute classroom meetings.

Parent and Caregiver Education Seminars are also held at schools and community centers. The goal of these seminars is to help raise parent and caregiver awareness about child safety issues and to encourage parents and caregivers to reinforce the lessons that their children have learned during the safety training.

In addition, professionals in the health, law enforcement, education, and social services fields are trained in how to identify and respond to suspected child abuse and neglect.
