Description

The goal of Good NEWS for a Better L.I.F.E. is to improve the health of senior citizens through participation in educational and physical activities.

Those who join this free program have access to exercise classes, monthly health screenings, educational opportunities, hospital VIP services, and social opportunities. The program also strives to increase access to local health care facilities and serves as a coordinator of care for program participants. Good NEWS also provides help with many daily living activities.

The goal of Good NEWS for a Better L.I.F.E. is to improve the health of senior citizens through participation in educational and physical activities.

Results / Accomplishments

With the believe that improved quality of life is strongly correlated with the ability to stay in their homes, within three years of operation, Good NEWS repaired approximately 50 homes through a community-wide effort and performed maintenance on an additional 35 houses. Maintenance included providing items such as wheelchair ramps, air conditioners, pest control, and plumbing.
