Vision Literacy implements literacy programs designed to assist individuals to reach their personal goals and become active members of the community. Through partnerships with local businesses and organizations, Vision Literacy trains volunteers to tutor learners in health literacy, civic matters such as voting, computer skills, corrections matters, and family life skills. Vision Literacy's programs feature individual and small-group tutoring sessions that focus on specific learner needs.Tutors enrich the community by helping adults become empowered community members by increasing their literacy skills.

Goal / Mission

Vision Literacy aims to empower adults by improving reading, writing, basic math, and computer skills.

Results / Accomplishments

Vision Literacy has assisted thousands of adult learners in building their reading and writing skills. Approximately 400 volunteers are trained each year to tutor adult learners. Each year the program assists about 1,000 learners and provides 10,000 hours of instruction.
