A Good Idea

Description

Once a month, Mercy Mobile sets up a mobile mammogram van in the parking lot of The Family Physicians, PA to provide access to mammography as a means of early cancer detection to all members of the community. This service is covered by most insurance, but as Mobile Mammogram has been certified as a early detection works facility, it is also accessible to community members without insurance who can apply for free preventive care, which includes mammograms.

Goal / Mission

To increase access to and use of mammography as a means of early detection of breast cancer.

Results / Accomplishments

Since September of 2017, The Family Physician, PA, and Mercy Mobile have completed more than 160 mammograms for women in the community.
