SNAP 2 It!

A Good Idea

Description

The SNAP 2 It! program helps SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) participants buy healthy local produce by providing "matching dollars" when individuals use their SNAP benefits at the farmers market. The matching dollars make local, healthy food more affordable and also extend SNAP benefits.

Goal / Mission

The program aims to increase the consumption of local, healthy fruits and vegetables in SNAP participants.

Results / Accomplishments

SNAP 2 It! raised $3500 for the program in 2014 and has applied for the FINIP USDA grant with the Wholesome Wave Foundation for 2015-2017.
