Leading, Integrating, Networking for Kids (LINK)

A Good Idea

Description

The goal of Leading, Integrating, Networking for Kids is to provide mental health services for children in schools in Syracuse, New York.

The program provides children's groups, individual therapy, family therapy, parent groups, psychiatric evaluation/medication management, case management, and consultation with school personnel. In addition, non-clinical activities such as arts and crafts, basketball, field trips, and music lessons are offered in order to build relationships that may reduce the stigma involved with participation in mental health activities. These services are more accessible to families because they are provided in the school setting and often close to home.
